Golf Fundraiser
The McCormack Family will be hosting their 4th Annual Tammy & Jessie Memorial Golf Fundraiser on Saturday, September 24th 2022 at Fairways of Halfmoon. All proceeds will go to the benefit the Domestic Violence Program at the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center.
The tragic reason the Tammy & Jessie Memorial Golf Fundraiser was established is because the family lost 2 family members to Domestic Violence (sister-in-law Tammy and niece Jessica) on April 9, 2013 in their home. There was a turn of events that lead up to that night where Jessica's boyfriend who she had been dating on and off took their lives. There was no physical evidence that he was abusive to her but there were a lot of red flags of emotional abuse. This tragedy occurred after the abuser got mad because of a social media post Jessica made. Since this unfortunate tragedy, the McCormack family has spent their time partnering with local Domestic Violence Organizations and Schools with a goal of fundraising money to bring awareness to young people, educate them on safe dating and helping people in difficult situations.
